Smart Metering introduces bidirectional information exchange between energy provider and consumer. For several applications various kinds of data are transmitted. This data may contain personal and/or confidential data that has to be protected against manipulation and unauthorized access. The webinar shows the general security relevant aspects and gives a brief introduction to the German regulation with a protection profile for Smart Metering.
Presented by Olivier Monnier, Texas Instruments
This webinar outlines the system level challenges that R&D as well as system architect engineers usually have to deal with, followed by a quick overview of the most common approaches to cope with these. The Webinar finishes with an introduction into SILICA’s comprehensive Smart Metering strategy that includes not only the system solutions out of our semiconductor portfolio but also third party service to address the complete application, underlining our added value as market experts.
This webinar introduces NXP´s EM773 chip solution – an ARM-based product with a metrology engine inside. Included with the metrology engine is automatic, single-phase, power- and energy-measurement for non-billing smart metering applications. The EM773 energy metering IC is designed to remove the complexities of metrology development, enabling designers to focus on product differentiating features.
