Use of graphic models fosters a well-structured top down approach to design architecture and implement concurrent interacting processes. With a tool environment such as IBM Rational Rhapsody, virtual prototypes can be easily created and verified, code can be generated from the validated model automatically and reuse is made much easier. A model car wash control unit is used as an example to demonstrate major steps.
